Spanish Immersion Program
In fall 2020, Scott Lane launched Santa Clara Unified School District's first Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, a different and more enriching model of educating students in two languages, to give students districtwide an opportunity to become bilingual and bi-literate, starting in elementary school.
What is Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI)?
Dual language immersion programs include native English-speaking students and native speakers of a foreign language. The goals of DLI programs are to develop bilingualism/biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies for all students.

Enrollment
We strongly recommend you attend one of our upcoming “Orientation Sessions,” but it is not a condition of completing an Open Enrollment Application.
For Transitional Kindergarten through 1st grade, complete an Open Enrollment Application during the 2026-2027 Open Enrollment Application Period from January 7, 2025 to February 6, 2025. The site will contact the family to complete an assessment for the program. For more information regarding the Open Enrollment process and notification period, refer to the district website.
